About the Founder
Kathryn Shimabukuro is the founder of Protocol Strategies, bringing more than two decades of marketing and business development experience in professional services. Prior to launching Protocol Strategies, she served as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer at a mid-sized law firm. Over the course of her career, she also held leadership positions at a Big Four accounting firm and consulted with small, regional, and boutique law and accounting firms.
Her career has been defined by helping firms navigate the tension between tradition and innovation. Kathryn understands the unique challenges professional services leaders face, whether it’s earning partner buy-in for new technology, proving the ROI of marketing initiatives, or finding ways to reduce administrative burdens so professionals can focus on client service and billing.
What sets Kathryn apart is her ability to “speak the language” of lawyers and accountants while introducing tools and strategies that move firms forward.
